Alan Reingold :  creator of the Pegasus for the Tri-Star Logo

The premise is simple: invite people to sit in front of my camera with One Valued Object of their choosing.  One photograph focuses on the person.  One photograph focuses on the object that person has chosen.

The background of this project is perhaps just as simple.  Surrounded by people every day who I found inspiring, I began to wonder what it is they found inspiring.   Would General George Washington choose to hold a military item towards my camera?  Would painter Frida Kahlo hold a paintbrush towards my lens?  Participants thus far have chosen pages from childhood diaries, a pocket knife given as a father-son gift, and a unique commemorative gift given by perhaps the number one name in sportswear.  Each portrait has offered telling moments.
